Community Interpreting
Are you fluent in English and another language?
Our Community Interpreting courses are for people who are interested in becoming
Community Interpreters.
The course is Level 2 and is accredited by the National Open College Network (NOCN).
The NOCN Level 2 course gives a general insight into the role of the Community Interpreter
and includes:
- Confidentiality
- Impartiality
- Working ethos as an interpreter
- Presentation skills
- Scenarios and sharing of good practice
- Role-play situations
The course consists of 12 elements with assignments to complete. There is no examination.
Each learner will build up a portfolio of work which will be marked by the tutor
and verified by NOCN. We are pleased with the high achievement of the learners on
these courses.
As a progression route, learners who have satisfactorily completed the NOCN Level
2 Community Interpreting course can go on the NOCN Level 3.
