What will I be learning?
Learn new techniques in jewellery making, rag rugging, paper flowers, textile brooches, wire sculptures, paper boxes, knitting and crochet. A lovely way to start the weekend.

This is a none qualification course
Who is the course for?
Anyone who is enthusiastic about making things, no previous knowledge is necessary; this is a relaxed and informal session, which is inspiring.
What do I need to bring?
Scissors, pen, paper, ruler and materials suggested by the Tutor to complete your project.
Are there any additional costs?
A maximum of £2 each week for materials.
How will I know how I am progressing during the course?
Weekly feedback from the tutor.
Can I have help in the class?
If you would like to enrol on this course but think you will need some help in the class you could have support through the Learning Partners Scheme. The scheme matches learners who need additional help with a volunteer to attend the class together. Volunteers can help with confidence, practical tasks such as cutting or measuring, reading and taking notes or communicating with the tutor and other learners.

Lifts to course room and toilets, doors to room for where course taking place is only just 800mm wide so should be okay for standard manual wheelchairs, but larger chairs may not fit through. If anyone would like to visit prior to the course to ascertain accessibility, they would be very welcome.

How to get there Derby Museum and Art Gallery is in the centre of town, next to the Central Library on the Strand. The entrance is at the far end of the Strand where Bold Lane, Sadlergate, Cheapside and the Strand intersect.
