Guitar for beginners

Total Guided Learning Hours: 20 Hours

What will I be learning?

How to play the guitar starting at the very beginning.  You will learn how to play chords, riffs and scales, read guitar music, understand basic music theory, and compile a repertoire of songs covering various styles

Does the course lead to a qualification?

This is a none qualification course

Who is the course for?

Total beginners or with limited knowledge

What do I need to bring?

An acoustic guitar (electric is ok if it is all you have), pen and paper

Are there any additional costs?

How will I know how I am progressing during the course?

There will be regular tests as well as one to one learner/tutor meetings

Can I have help in the class?

If you would like to enrol on this course but think you will need some help in the class you could have support through the Learning Partners Scheme.  The scheme matches learners who need additional help with a volunteer to attend the class together.  Volunteers can help with confidence, practical tasks such as cutting or measuring, reading and taking notes or communicating with the tutor and other learners.
