DERBY CITY COUNCIL ADULT LEARNING SERVICE ACHIEVES THE TRAINING QUALITY STANDARD

Derby City Council is the first local authority adult learning service to achieve this national award.  It is recognition of the high quality of our work with employees on workforce development courses.  In the last year this included teaching assistants and other city council employees achieving national tests in literacy and numeracy, NVQs in ICT and Health and Social Care as part of the council's Skills Pledge initiative, programmes in French and Spanish for primary school teachers and teaching assistants as well as a variety of programmes for employees from companies such as Toyota and Bombardier.
