If you feel excited about working sustainably with textiles to repair and mend them with creative and functional techniques then consider this course.What are the entry requirements
There are no specific entry requirements. It will however be helpful to have a basic knowledge of stitching, weaving and knitting skills.What will I be learning
We will cover visible mending using patching, visible darning, sewing on buttons and fastenings and easy repairs to clothes fabric and wool and school uniforms.How will I be assessed and supported
Your tutor will work with you to guide you step by step, discuss your work with you one to one, encourage your strengths and facilitate developing of areas which need more work.An Individual Learning Plan will be used for feedback alongside oral feedback.
What do I need to bring?
A Notebook A5 spiral spine
Quarter inch grid
paper
Pen, pencil, ruler rubber
A Selection of threads fine wool,
cotton
A selection of needles including size 20,22 tapestry
needles
Scissors
Fabric with holes, Knitting with holes,
A piece of
clothing which needs mending due to holes.
Please arrange to be able to come to every
session.
