Who is this course for

Anyone with a learning disability/difficulty who would like to find out about how Mindful Walking can help with anxiety and improve mental wellbeing.

What are the entry requirements

There are no entry requirements for this course.

What will I be learning

Being outside is good for our physical and mental wellbeing.
Being mindful means concentrating on what is happening around you now and not worrying about what has happened in the past or might happen in the future.
Being mindful can help you to take some time away from your worries and stresses and enjoy the moment.
On this course you will take part in some short mindful walks you do not need to be able to walk for long distances to join us.

How will I be assessed and supported

At the beginning of your course you will talk to the tutor about why you have chosen this course and what you want to learn to be able to do. During the course you will use an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) to review your progress towards these targets with your tutor. Each week you will be asked to think about what has gone well and what you need to work on next. Your tutor will give you feedback on this as well.
Throughout the course your tutor will talk to you about your progress and every term you will have a short meeting with your tutor.
If you need help to read and write your tutor or a support worker will help you with this

A folder
Footwear and clothing suitable for taking part in walks.
