Who is this course for

This course is suitable for anyone who is thinking of working in schools and colleges as a Teaching assistant and for parents who would like to understand more about how to best support their child to develop.

What are the entry requirements

Learners must already have a Level 1 English qualification (or equivalent) or be assessed as able to work at this level.

Learners who do not already have this qualification will be assessed for English prior to enrolment on the course.

Anyone wishing to enrol on this course will need to attend an initial assessment session prior to the course starting to ensure that this is an appropriate course for them and that they understand the course requirements.

What will I be learning

This is an ideal first qualification for anyone who is thinking about working or volunteering in a school.

On the course you will learn how:To support the well-being of a child/young person
Children develop and how adults can support their learning and development
To communicate effectively with children and young people

How will I be assessed and supported

There is no exam for this course. However, you will collect a folder of evidence showing what you have learned to meet the assessment criteria.
