This is an online course taught via Zoom

Total Hours: 1 1/2 hours online with the tutor Sally Petch.

What will I be learning?

You will learn:

  • About deaf people in the UK.
  • The main aim of the course is:

- To raise awareness of the variety of deaf people that live in the UK.

- To signpost where further information can be found.

Does the course lead to a qualification?

No. It doesn’t lead to a qualification but learners who complete the course will be given a certificate of attendance on request.

What does the course involve?

A one and half hours session over Zoom. There will be a demonstration of fingerspelling, a short online quiz, a short lecture, and a final Question & Answer session.

Who is the course for?

The course is aimed at anyone would is curious about the Deaf.

What do I need?

You may want pen and paper if you want to take any notes, although the slides will be sent to participants after the event. Please have the Kahoot! App ready on a separate mobile device to be able to play the online quiz.

To connect to your online course via Zoom, you will need: 

  • An electronic device of your choice connected to the Internet 
  • An email address  
  • Headphones or speakers and microphone (these can be built into your device)
